Trolls are the dreams of noble giants of the people of northern Europe and Scandanavia. They are generally considered to be the most honorable of the fae, and are a major choice for leaders among those Kithain who are still not happy with Sidhe rule. Tall and noble-looking, this primarily Seelie Kith balances the Sidhes' beauty with a feeling of solidity and responsibility.

    Trolls are by far the most physically impressive of the Fae, and it is not terribly unusual to see members of this Kith that top eight or even nine feet in their Fae mien. They are popular for hiding behind among the Pooka. They are also popular as guards, both for the nobles and among the commoners, and are brave and hardy fighters. They take on only tasks that they are willing to give their entire effort to, and will stand by their word to the death in most situations. Their well-being is so tied in to their honor that there are stories of Trolls who have had to break oaths in order to avoid doing great harm to those they loved, and have died from the breach of their honor.

     Unseelie Trolls, on the other hand, tend to apply an interesting logic to their oaths. They are called Ogres, and tend to be much less intelligent than Seelie Trolls, and therefore either more or less dangerous, depending on how you look at it. They will honor promises made to those they consider to be their equals, but will freely twist the meaning of or even break promises to "lesser" beings, giving other fae the impression that there is no logic to their honor at all.
